RON DEL BARRILITO RUM WILL BE DISTRIBUTED IN VERMONT
Montpelier, Vermont, (Feb. 12, 2020)- Just in time to warm up the ski season, Puerto Rico’s oldest rum, Ron Del Barrilito will arrive to the ski resorts and lodges of Vermont. Locals and visitors alike will be able to warm up by the fire and enjoy the “world’s best sipping rum.”
Vision Wine & Spirits and Edmundo B. Fernández, Inc., producers of renowned Ron del Barrilito 2 Star, 3 Star & 5 Star rums at Hacienda Santa Ana, announced that the Vermont DLC has listed the Barrilito 3-Star Rum for sale in the state.
Ron del Barrilito is a premium-quality rum, awarded and recognized by experts as the world’s finest sipping rum. The flagship items are Ron del Barrilito Two Stars, which is aged for three to five years, and Ron del Barrilito Three Stars, aged for six to ten years. Ron del Barrilito Five Stars will also be available. This is the first new expression of Ron del Barrilito presented by Edmundo B. Fernández, Inc. in more than 138 years, reinforcing Ron del Barrilito’s status as the world’s finest sipping rum. This extremely limited expression contains the oldest and most precious rums from the company’s maturation warehouse, aged exclusively in Oloroso sherry butts for up to 35 years.
Hacienda Santa Ana was established in 1787 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico by the Fernández Family, and started as a sugar cane plantation. Like many family-owned sugar cane plantations, they produced their own rum for personal consumption. In 1880, Pedro Fernández began to market the family rum under the name of Ron del Barrilito, which today, more than 130 years later, still uses the same artisanal craft techniques, family recipe, and aging process.
Behind this historic creation is the original recipe and vision of the Fernández Family and the experience of the Hacienda’s Master Blender, Mr. Luis Planas, an industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience.
Vision Wine & Spirits, LLC is a division of the Martignetti Companies, the 7th largest distributor in the United States, and an independent family-owned business since 1908.
